It’s the most wonderful, WAIT - we mean the most STRESSFUL time of the year!

It’s almost that wonderful - we mean the most STRESSFUL time of year

Could there EVEN be a more ridiculous time of year?

Doubt it.

In preparation to write this post, we googled things like Holidays and holiday stories, and before we knew it, HOLIDAY DISASTERS, started to populate… Like we even needed to read those to know how stressful time with family and friends could be between October to March. GODDESS HELP US!

The most STRESSFUL Time of Year

WAOW - We’re tough, but some of these stories literally make us bawl…

Could this get any worse? Dogs pulling the tablecloth off of the dining room table, causing the entire holiday meal to go crashing to the ground, or children puking all over gifts, or cats tearing the lights off of trees, or dogs peeing on people / trees / gifts. Do we really, we mean REALLY have to deal with this shit? UG!

How to prepare for THE F#(@!ing HOLIDAYS!

The truth of the matter is, we can’t control everything. What people, children, and pets will do is completely out of our hands. The one thing that we can control is ourselves.

Plan, cook and prepare as usual, and add these 5 tips to achieve your inner peace during the most stressful time of the year:

  1. Practice your breathing - not only during times of stress (because, let’s be honest, that’s the one time we forget to use breathing exercises to destress), but also during calm times.

WebMD has some great breathing exercises.

If you have an Apple Watch, there’s an app that you can use to practice mindful breathing! It’s a great way to get yourself, and your brain in a happy, and relaxed mode.

  2. (This might sound corny, but try it anyway), BE GRATEFUL for all the wonderful things in your life. Seriously, take a minute, and thank the Universe / God / Goddess / Source or whatever for all of the incredible things in your life. It could be your partner for being a great help, your children for being so amazing and adorable, your job for allowing you to purchase gifts, and food for the holidays.

Being grateful will absolutely help to elevate your mood, and potentially stave off any new stress, or bad feelings!

  3. Surround yourself with positive people - this is also potentially cliche, but it works. When the people around you are positive, you can’t help but be positive as well. It’s a simple fix. It’s also very likely that if something were to go wrong, your positive friends will help you to see the silver lining, and help you through it. You’re more likely to be less stressed.

  4. Perhaps consider introducing CBD into your routine - CBD has many incredible health benefits, not the least of which being the ability to help with stress, anxiety and even pain.

It even comes in many forms, making easy to add to your daily routine.

    • Drops, and Honey infused with CBD, can be added to a drink, or food or taken just the way it is
    • Edibles, mmmmm gummies! Like, who doesn’t like gummies? There are a number of edible CBD products on the market, candies, teas and so much more. No one even needs to know it’s CBD
    • CBD can also come in a pill format. Some companies have found ways to get CBD into a pill format. Easy to take in the morning, or even at the time anxiety hits.

  5. Take time for you - Wake up an hour before everyone else in the house. The truth is waiting for them to go to bed at night is going to drain you, and all you’re going to want to do is sleep. So, take some time in the morning, while the house is quiet and the chaos hasn’t begun. Do some reading, or just watch the news. Practice your meditation, or exercise. Do something specifically for you to help you start the day in a positive way!

So, do the things that are going to make you happy, prepare yourself for the day with breathing, and even perhaps exercise? Maybe?

Now you’re prepared for the craziest time of year. Don’t take things too seriously. Liv Your True Self.
